Paranormal Tourism
Do you own or manage a property that has paranormal activity or a history of otherworldly encounters? Have you thought about adding Haunted tours or Ghost Hunts/Paranormal Investigations to your property as a way to generate income and capture evidence?
Coast Paranormal is experienced in leading groups on paid ghost hunts. Our ParaTours service will work with your site team to develop and lead haunted tours or REAL ghost hunts with REAL paranormal investigators.
Paranormal tourism generates hundreds of millions of dollars each year. Many historic properties are leaning into the stories and rumors of hauntings as a way to drive sales. Hotels can book rooms, bars and restaurants can book more food and drink sales and there are plenty of opportunities for additional merchandise sales. The number one reason to offer haunted tours or ghost hunts is exposure.
How It Works
Our team meets with you and collects history and anecdotes and visits the haunted locations. With this information, we put together a plan. Most investigations run a minimum of 2 hours, and can go as long as 3. Each site's schedule will be unique.
You determine if you want to do a one time or a recurring event. Once we settle on a date and we put together an Investigation Plan (or Tour Script) and the marketing begins!
We provide:
* All the equipment
* Staffing for the event
* Marketing support
* Merchandise support
* Payment and registration collection (or use your POS system)
* General liability insurance with your site as an additional insured
You provide:
* Dedicated access to the site spaces with no to low interference
* Site history and experience
Ghost Hunts are typically conducted at night over the span of 2-3 hours.
Why at night? The biggest reason is fewer distractions. Paranormal activity tends to be higher at night, though there are many theories that this is due to environmental factors. Plenty of people report activity during the daytime hours.
So what does it cost?
Our fee comes from the amount of people who book the ghost hunt or tour. Typically, we take 50% with a minimum to help cover expenses. Depending on the property we can run up to 4 investigations per night with two investigators operating at the same time. Fee's to the guest depend on what is being offered, an average investigation of 2-3 hours with three sites runs $100-110 per person. How many guests participate depends on the size of the property. We prefer a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 16. This ensures our investigators can manage the group as we always keep safety in mind.
Tours require a minimum and are events that can run multiple times per day.
You can book a one time event with one investigation, three nights of hunts, or a multi day event which includes lectures, ghost hunting, tours, and overnight bookings! It's really up to you and your property. Ghost hunts are best in areas that are not generally open to the public during the hours of the investigation.
Some ideas:
* Haunted Pub- guests can have drinks with real investigation equipment around the bar and see if they can connect with an energy.
* Haunted Tour- groups will be led around your property and learn the history and experience stories
* Ghost Hunts- groups from larger to smaller VIP experiences will visit site on your property and conduct a real investigation.
* Paranormal Weekend-
Additional sales are generated through:
* Food and beverage sales. Host a special for the duration of the event to generate food and drink sales before or after the event.
* Room bookings. Folks who come for a late ghost hunt will want to stay on site after. Even folks who do not participate in a hunt will be attracted your property in the hopes of getting paranormal activity in their guest room.
* Merchandise sales. Add t-shirts, hats, buttons/pins/lanyards, stickers, or more for guests to commemorate their experience and your property!
* Property bookings from youtubers/influencers in the paranormal space
* Event bookings for folks attracted to the paranormal
